O b . Ref. and Doe. Drr New» paperi, .,2* O Library The Mill City VOLUME XXII NUMBER 10 I I I Up and Down I The Avenue Ry Ron Moffatt Ahhh, Spring! It certainly has been with us for some time, but when we have Spring this early in the year, I am a bit hesitant about getting out my shorts even though this has been one of our best winters here in the Canyon. Let’s hope it con tinues. Surely we’ll still get some more winter weather as we do need more snow in the upper reaches to assure ample water for irrigation in the Valley this summer. One thing for sure, this Spring weather certainly does bring people out. We took a drive to the coast Sunday and it was surprising to see just how many people did the same thing. Coming home, this side of Salem, we counted 260 cars—which reminded us of the summer weekends, when it is possible to count up to around 500 vehicles on that same stretch of highway. Spring weather has, however, given residents a chance to get out in their yards, get their lawns in shape for the coming summer months. I know, and today I have the stiff muscles to prove It.
