Mrs. Charles Crook and Mrs. Hattie Golliet were hostesses for the evening and served re decorated cake and jello to the guests after the gifts were cpened. Those present were Mmes. G. W. Coffman, James Owen, Elmer Taylor, Giles Wagner, Art Anderson, Larry Kimsey, Ed Castle, Ray Roberts, Tex Kimsey, Richard Stuart, D. L. Teeters, J. M. Santiam Rebekah Lodge Installs New Officers Several officers of Santiam Rebekah lodge that were not installed at regular ceremon ies held recently were instal led at the January 18 meeting. Toni Thomas will serve as financial secretary and Ida Fleetwood as conductor. Ada Plymale acted as installing of ficer. Frances McCarley was elect ed trustee replacing Alta Bod- eker whose term expired. Oth er trustees are Ann Primeau and Lettie Swan. There was a lengthly dis cussion on whether or not to sell the roll top desks owned by the order. The trustees were instructed by Noble Grand Irene Lewin to inquire about the value of the desks before a decision is made. Juanita Emerson, junior past grand was presented a gift from her officers. Mrs. Lewin appointed her committees for the year: Finance, Helen Johnston, Gertrude Weidman and Car men Barnhardt; Publicity, Ann Primeau and Toni Thom as; Welcome, Ruby Brisbin, Helen Johnston and Ida Fleetwood; Flowers, Marie Stickney, Alta Bodeker and Lettie Swan; Degree Captain, Toni Captain; Drill Captain, Carmen Barnhardt and Good of the Order, Gertrude Weid man. A reading, “The Man God Made” was given by Gertrude Weidman, good of the order chairman. Gay Valentine decorations were used on the tables in the dining room and refresh ments were served to the 18 members present by Irene Lewin and Blanche Syverson. Reports were heard at the January meeting of Santiam PTA on the results of contacts with the Linn County Health association on the possibility of getting the services of a health clinic here. For many years the Marion County Health Association served this area and Mrs. Howard Morrisson, PTA pres ident said this week if Linn County will not provide the service perhaps arrangements to get the Marion County clinic would be made. Various groups and organi zations in town have written letters urging that a health clinic again be provided for this area. Mrs. Morrison, Mrs. James Budlong. Mrs. Herbert Hutch inson. Mrs. Lenthel Ragsdale and Mrs. Dave Barnhardt were in Albany recently pre senting the letters and other data to Linn County officials. For the PTA program Thursday evening, Mr. and Rilla Shafer Hosts Mrs. “Mac” McFarlane were present and showed slides Bid or Bunch Club taken while they lived in Rilla Shafer entertained Saudi, Arabia. Leming of Idanha is serving aboard the guided missile frigate USS Halsey, returning from a six month deployment with the U. S. Seventh Fleet operating off the coast of Vietnam. The Halsey is the flagship of Commander Destroyer Squadron Seven. Her helicop ter detachment, and crew were credited with rescuing 16 downed Army, Navy and Air Force airmen while on station in the Gulf of Tonkin.
