Po lice investigated and recover ed the motors in a shop in Salem where they had been sold for $108 each. Further investigation led to two sus pects from Lyons. Chief Jim Taylor obtained felony war rants against both from the district attorney.. The two suspects are presently being sought by local, county, and state officers on these war rants. Taylor said in view of the fact they are felony war rants the two will be return ed to Oregon from anywhere in the U. S. when arrested. December 22— William E. Purdy, 21, of 1198 6th Street in Stayton was arrested by Mill City police on January 9, 1967 and charged with attempting to elude a police officer. Chief Jim Taylor said he pursued Purdy at speeds up to 70 miles per hour west on River Road. Taylor said Purdy abandoned the vehicle near Fisherman’s Bend and fled into the brush. Taylor said Purdy surrend ered moments later at shot gun point. Purdy plead guilty in mu nicipal court Monday night and was fined $100 plus $5 costs and given five days in jail. Grade School Wins Series of Games 5—The Mill City Enterprise, Thursday, Jan. 12, 1967 10 to 2 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter Mill City didn’t score, but Sublimity did. They made six points. The score wound up 10 to 8 for the half. In the third quarter Steve Lewellen started out by mak ing four points. John Ruby, Gordon Plotts, and Dan Cox all made two points each. Ron nie Podrabsky and Rodney Luke both came and made two points in the fourth quarter. Gordon Plotts made a field goal and Randy Westrick fol lowed it with a free throw and another field goal. Steve Lew ellen made a field goal also. Sublimity made a total of 10 points in the final half. The final score was 31 to 18 jn favor of Mill City. By Ken Goforth made four. Scio’s team made a bigger effort making one point. At the end of the third quarter the score was 17 to 5. Greg Eide came in and made a free throw. David Pittam made two more free throws and a field goal. Allen Severs and Gary Richards made two points each making the final score 26 to 6.
