Mehama Women's Club Has Holiday Party Thursday MEHAMA — Mrs. Raymond Branch and Mrs. Lilly Wolf kiel were hostesses for the meeting and Christmas party of the Mehama Women’s club Thursday evening, December 15 at the fire hall. The busi ness session was opened with the flag salute and the read ing of the Women’s club col lect by Mrs. James Owen. A report was given on the street lights and the president, Mrs. Betty Wagner asked the mem bers to be thinking about some project that the club could take up. It was also vot ed to send the usual donation for the Christmas seals. Mrs. Branch was the winner in the gift drawing. The members brought gifts for the Hillcrest Home and also home baked gifts were exchanged. Several games of bingo were played after which refreshments were served by the hostesses at a long, beau tifully decorated table. The next regular meeting of the Women’s club will be on Thursday evening, March 23. Mrs. Myers is a sister of Chris Campbell. Guests the last of the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Giles Wagner were Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Berry of Beaverton, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stewart of Tacoma, and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Johnson of Mapleton when they were here to at tend the funeral services for Clement G. Gough on Satur day. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson also visited with his mother Mrs. Harley Johnson and oth er relatives. Mrs. M. V. Frame returned home the last of the week from Leaburg where she had spent some time at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Orval Greer following Mrs. Greer’s return home from the hospital. Bonnie Christensen visited during the weekend with her uncle’s family, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Christensen and Shar on in Albany. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Titze went to Portland Tuesday, December 13 to visit with her mother, Mrs. J. F. Webber, who is in Providence hospital following surgery. Mark Kimsey called his mo ther, Mrs. Larry Kimsey, from Washington, D. C. Sunday to tell her that he had finished his training with the Marine Reserves and would be home Monday or Tuesday. Among students at their homes for the Christmas vaca tion are Kenny Champ from OTI, Klamath Falls; Harriet Golliet, U of O; Rodney Wil son from Whitworth, Spo kane; Beverly Helsel, John Phillips and Randy Kimsey from OSU. Mrs. G. V. Christensen re turned home Sunday evening from Astoria where she spent several days at the home of of her cousin D. C. Hughes and family. LYONS By Eva Bronsler Mrs. Ben IntVeld under went surgery at Santiam Me morial hospital in Stayton Friday morning. She is re ported to be convalescing sat isfactorily. Mrs. Floyd Bassett was hostess for their annual get- gother with a luncheon held at her home Wedneday, De cember 14. Attending were Mrs. Maggie Shaw, Mrs. Ann Holman, Mrs. Florence Cox, Mrs. Velma Bilyeu, Mrs. Bet ty Shaw of Mill City; Mrs. Jean Roberts of Lebanon and Mrs. Florence Meyers of Bea verton. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh John ston were in Portland Satur day night to meet their daugh ter, Mrs. Fred Sutherland, who arrived by plane from Virginia Beach, Va. She will spend two weeks here. Mr. Sutherland who is in the Navy, is now at sea. Mrs. Donna Asmussen en tertained with a coffee Friday night at her home for the teaching staff at Mari-Linn, following their annual Christ mas program. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Par rish are announcing the birth of their first child, a son, born Friday at Santiam Memorial. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Joe Parrish of Stayton and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Weitman of Aumsville. Mrs. James Peterson and Mrs. Floent Frichtl were hostesses for the annual Christmas party and gift ex change of the St. Patrick club held at the Peterson home Monday night. A 6:30 potluck supper pre ceded the annual Christmas party for the staff at Mari- Linn Monday evening. Fol lowing the supper a gift ex change was enjoyed and the time spent in visiting. The members of the Lyons Rural Fire Department held their annual Christmas party and supper at the fire hall Saturday night. Visiting relatives in Lyons several days this week were 3—The Mill City Enterprise, Thursday, Dec. 29, 1966 Mr. and Mrs. Jess Fox from Weiser, Idaho. They were guests at the home of her sister and brother in-law Mr. and Mrs. Earl Allen. They also visited her brother and wife Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bassett.
