Interment was at City View cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Prichard have purchased the stock and fixtures of the former Mor row Bros. Market in Stayton. Sixty-one women were pre sent for the “special interest” meeting held Thursday night at Mari-Linn school when Mrs. Eleanor Cook of Stayton presented a program o n Christmas decorations and ar- ranging. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. McMa- han and family moved this week to Woodland, Calif. They were living on the former Al bert Julian farm. The Mc Mahans were residents at Woodland before moving here. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Mulkey of Silyerton were Thursday evening guests at the home of their daughter and family, the Don Hubers. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schiewek have returned home from a nine-week vacation. They vis ited their sons, John Schiewek and family in Everly, Iowa; David and family at Detroit, Mich.; Mr. Schiewek’s sister and family at Milwaukee, Wis. also relatives in Minnesota. Mrs. Schiewek’s parents at Valley City, N. D. were also visited and her brother and family at Conrad, Mont. They have two new grandchildren. Kerry Dean, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schiewek, and An- gelia Louise, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Schiewek. Miss Mildred Asmussen of Salem spent two days at the the home of her monther, Mrs. Donna Asmussen. Miss As mussen is employed at the Telephone Company in Salem. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Craig- myle and sons, Joey and Billy were weekend guests at Long view. They went to take his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Craigmyle home after they had spent two weeks with their son and family, They were accompanied by her bro ther and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Schlyper and son from Shaw. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walton and daughters, Wendee and Sally were in Portland Sunday to see his father, Ben Walton of North Bend, who Is seri ously ill in a hospital there. Earl Allen, who underwent major surgery last Tuesday at Santiam Memorial hospital in Stayton was able to return to his home Sunday. A group of friends from Lyons were in Salem Sunday afternoon to attend a recep tion honoring Mr. and Mrs. James Hollingshead of Lyons on their golden wedding anni versary. The-affair, arranged by their two daughters and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Erickson of Salem and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Adams of Cloverdale, was held at the Pringle Park building from 1 to 3 o’clock. Bert Lyons returned home Saturday from a Salem hos pital after spending two weeks there for medical treatment. Mr. Lyons, who had the mis fortune of breaking his hip while in the hospital, will be confined to his bed for some time. BLANCHE DAVENPORT Funeral services were held Friday morning at Howell- Edwards chapel in Salem for Blanche Ellen Davenport of Salem. She had been in poor health for the past several weeks and was being cared evening guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Wright at Tigard. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wilson are announcing the birth of another grandson, Jason Lee, born to their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard Towery of Turner. He will be greeted by two older broth ers. for at the home of her daugh ter, Mrs. Walter Rue. Mrs. Davenport, 79, passed away Tuesday morning. She was born in Texas and had lived in Salem for the past 21 years. She was a member of the Pentacostal Sant'am .Memorial Hospital Church of God in Salem.
