Engagement Told The engagement of Ensign Mary Ann Bassett to Marvin Palmer of Portland is being annonced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bassett of Stayton. The Bassetts are former longtime residents of Mill City. Miss Bassett is a June graduate of the University of Portland College of Nursing and is now serving with the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps in Philadelphia, Penn.
