GATES—A Sept. 17 bride was Miss Sharon Kay Pate, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pate of Gates. Her marriage to Charles (Rusty) Whitten was solemnized at 4:00 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church at Mill City. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Noyes Whitten of Mill City. Officiating at the double ring ceremony was James Murray of the Presbyterian Church at Mill City. Mr. Pate gave his daughter in marriage. The bride wore a floor-length empire gown of white textured linen lined with slipper satin. The dress was accented by a matching bow. The A-line skirt and bell sleeves were accented by a detachable train that was at tached with pearls and fell from the shoulders. A tiara of pearls held her shoulder- length veil. The bridal bou quet was a cascade of Garden ias. Miss Lynda Parker, Mill Ci ty, was maid of honor. Mrs. Phyllis Burns, Astoria, Mrs. Carol Weigel, Salem and Miss Judy Pate, Gates, sisters of the bride, were bridesmaids. All the attendants wore floor length empire styled dresses made of blue crepe with matching lace overblouses. Their head pieces of blue matched their dresses. The attendants carried white gladioli. The flower girl was Miss Lisa Pate, sister of the bride. Best man was Steve Sor- seth, Eugene and the ushers were Jim Fencl, Mill City, John Crowder, Portland, and Bob Glaeser, Corvallis.
