grimly held on for a 55-47 de­
cision. Santiam staged a fourth
quarter
comeback
on
the
strength of six points by Guard
Frank Cathcrwood. Catherwood
tied for Wolverine game honors
with Roger Tuers. each scored
10. Brad Foote of Stayton topped
all scorers with 19. Santiam
out-scored Stayton 29-24 in the
second half but just couldn't
quite make up an intermission
deficit of 31-18. Scorers for San­
tiam were. Catherwood 10,

Craig Bennett staged a 21-
point performance in

Santiam's hustling JV basket­
ball team to a decisive victory
over Gervais. Bennett netted
11 in the final stanza as the little
Red quintet stacked
