Lions Auxiliary To
Have One Fund-
Raising Event A Year
Members of the Lions Auxil­
iary were entertained Thursday
evening at the home of Mrs.
Fred Berg with Mrs. Mel Ram­
bo presiding at the business
meeting.
Discussion was held on money
making projects and it was
voted to have just one proj<*ct
a year, the operation of the
"hamburger shack" at the an-
nual 4th of July celebration. If
more money is needed by the
Auxiliary at a later date to car­
ry on sight conservation pro­
jects, other benefits may be
held.

the Oregon State School for the

City Presbyterian church were
hosts to like clubs from all the
churches in the Willamette
Presbytery at Fellowship hall
Sunday.
Speaker for the afternoon
was Jerald Becker, teacher
from Lewis and Clark college in
Portland. Theme of his talk
was "Leadership.”
Devotii*ns were led by Rev.
Richard Cole. A dinner was pre-
pared and served by the Mar-
mer's club assisted by the Pres-
byterian Women's association.
There were 61 at the dinner.
A nursery was provided for
youngsters of those attending,
with several high school girl of
the church in charge.

Club Meets At
MacGregor Home
The Round Robin Pinochle
club members were entertained
Monday evening at the home of
Mrs. J. D. MacGregor. Dessert
was served preceding the meet­
ing on tables appropriately de­
corated in the Valentine motif.
Higi^score was won by Evelyn
Davis and low went to Faye
Verbcck. As pinochle was held
by no one during the evening,
a prize was not awarded.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kelly
attended the installation cere­
monies for the acting postmast­
er of the Salem Post Office, for­
mer Democratic State Chair­
man E. D. Spencer, Friday at
the Salem Elks temple. The af­
fair was attended by several
hundred dignitaries, including
representatives of the postal de­
partment from Washington, D.
C,. Seattle, and Portland, as
well as city, county and state
officials.
Sunday afternoon, the Kellys
attended the reception at the
YWCA in Salem honoring the
retiring Salem Postmaster, Al­
bert C. Gragg, and Mrs. Gragg.
Mr. Gragg has served in that
capacity for about IS years. The
wives of his assistants and sup-
erviors at the Post Office a-
sisted at the reception.
