A covered dish luncheon was served at noon. In the afternoon a silent auction was enjoyed by three present and the remainder cf the after- noon was spent visiting. McDonald Clan Has Reunion Sunday I Mr and Mrs. James Swan at- | tended the 25th annual reunion I of the McDonald clan held at the Kenneth McDonald farm on Thomas Creek near Scio. This was a part of the original Na thaniel Green and Rebecca Jane McDonald homestead About 100 were present for the picnic dinner which was served on long tables under the large trees on the bank of , Thomas creek. After the bountiful dinner a • business meeting was called by the president of the clan. Le- | land McDonald of Longview. | Wn. Because of a throat con- t di ion he then turned the meet ing over to Ralph McDonakl of Jefferson. A gavel was presented to the clan by Mary Zeis McDonald in memory of her husband. Ora McDonald. Mrs. Alice Huber of Lyons gave a history of the clan. Old est member present was Mrs Ethel McDonald Lindly of Al bany and Lisa Renee Robinson of Scio was youngest. Coming from the greatest dis tance was Harry McDonald, who is with the coast guard in Alaska. Officers elected for the new year are: President. Ralph Mc Donald. Jefferson; vice presi dent. Kenneth McDonald. Scio: secretary-treasurer. Clara McDonald Swan, Mill City; his torian, Alice McDonald Huber, Lyons and chaplain, Sam Stol ler, Albany. After the business meeting games and swimming were en joyed by the young people in the crowd and the older ones reminisced about the past when they visited their grand parents long ago on that very farm where they were spend ing the day. Whitten-Crowder Vows Exchanged Here Sunday Miss Cara Lee Whitten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noyes Whitten became the bride of Thomas Franklin Crowder, son of Mr and Mrs. T O Crowder of Eugen«* Sunday. August 11 at the Mill City Presbyterian church. The Rev Harold Roth officiated at the 2 o’ckx*k cert»- mony. Mrs. Thomas Scott ptoy- ed the wedding music and Mrs. Eugene Davenport sang. The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, wore a full- length white silk gown with appliqued rose# on bodice and two front panels and made with V-back. Her elbow length veil fell from u Dior rose. She car- ried iier white Rainbow Bible top[x*U with an orchid. Honor attendant was Miss Jo- Ann Winner, wearing a blue peau de Sols gown and carry ing long stemmed white carna tions. Bridesmaids were Misa Evon Faller and Miss Margar et Ttylor gowned identically to the honor attendant Best man tor the groom was Re;.ald Hawley and ushers were Rusty Whitten. The park is located amidst a setting of native trees along the banks of the North Santiam river. In 1962 Mm. Ijiura Neal do nated to I-inn County the 12l* acre site in memory of her late husband, John Neal For three decades the Neals have resided in the Lyons arra, tak- ing an active part in commun ity affairs.
