Commendation
MEHAMA—A letter of com-
mendation from the U. S. Army
Major Signal Relay center to
SP4 Gerry L. Butts, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Roberts
was recently received here.
The letter was from Orleans,
France, where WAC Butts is
stationed with her husband Sgt.
Butts.
The letter read as follows:
"It is with a great deal of
satisfaction and pleasure that
I commend you on your being
selected as ' 'Operator of the
Month.
"By virtue of the confidence
your officer-in-charge and non
commissioned officers
have
shown in you. plus your achiev
ing one of the highest scores
ever made in the competitive
examination, your newly award
ed title is well justified.
"In an operating section as
large as the traffic branch, it
is no easy task to determine
that individual, who because of
his knowledge experience, and
correct applications, stands out
among his fellow operators.
"Since you, SP 4 Butts, so
adequately fulfill this position,
it is with considerable pleasure
that I. as your Commanding
Officer, commend you on your
superior performance and fur
ther express a wish that you
will continue your outstanding
work." Rush Major, Command-
ing.”
SP4 Butts was interviewed
on the Orleans Armed Forces
Network, for this honor, and
was given three days
from
work.
