LYONS

Several from here were in
Mill City Thursday to attend the
annual luncheon, sponsored by
the Santiam Memorial Hospital
auxiliary.
Mrs. Effie Nydegger returned
home the first of the week from
California after spending some
time at the home of her daugh­
ter and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Tommy Meshew and children
at Modesto. She also visited in
San Francisco and Eureka. Her
daughter and husband. Chief
Petty Officer and Mrs. William
Grimes from Idaho Falls, Ida­
ho, who were visiting there
brought her home and will visit ,
with relatives in Lyons for sev­
eral days. They will return to
Idaho the first of the week and
Mrs. Nydegger will go home
with them for a visit there.
Mrs. Joseph McDougall un­
derwent surgery at Salem Me­

m. She is reported to be getting
along fine.
Mrs. Albert Stevens will re­
turn home this week from Sher­
idan, Wyo., after being called
there by the accidental death
of a nephew.
Arthur Vaughn of Portland
was a guest for several days at
the home of his son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mac
Mormon and daughter, Susie.
He also visited friends while
here.
Mrs. Anna Hubbard received
word of the death of her only
brother. William Neelen at Sa-
cramento, Calif.
The Steaming Kettle 4H club
met Monday at the home of
Mrs. C. C. Davis in Lyons.

Davis, Susie Sledge, Diana Met-
terer, Sally Walton,
Tammy
Palmer, Margaret Wilson and
Idnda Cox. who is the news re­

morning for their home at Ida­
ho Falls. Ida., after visiting

guests at the home of his par­
ents. Mr. and Mrs. Chester
Grimes and her mother, Mrs.
Effie Nydegger and other re­
latives Mrs. Nydegger return­
ed to Idaho with them for a
visit. Diey visited at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Poul­
son and family at Elgin.
Mrs Dorothy Draper spent
several days in Portland this
week at the home of her daugh­
ter and family. Mr. and Mrs.
Alvin Bueneman. She stayed
with her grandchildren while
the Buenemans were in Cali­
fornia to attend funeral serv­
ices for Mrs. Bueneman's fa­
ther,
Mr. anil Mrs Janeway were
Saturday visitors in Albany nt
the home of her sister and
husband, Mr. and Mrs Wade
Cble. They also visited with
Osta Webb in Corvallis.
Mr. and Mrs. latrry Prich­
ard are announcing the mar­
riage of their daughter. Joyce
Mildred, to Larry Stuhr. son of
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stuhr of
Salem, which was an event of
Saturday. February 23 at Stev­
