Jim Johnson, of Salem spent TOWN TALK Mrs. Myrtle Bates and her Bister, Mrs. Annie Brown from Portland hate returned from a week s trip to South Dakota where they visited relatives. D. E. Marde and son, Stanley were visitors in Portland Sat urday and Sunday at the home of relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Romey and three children of Waldport were weekend viistors at the home of Mrs. Romey’s mother, Mrs. Edna Albright. Mr. Romey is employed as printer on the Lin coln County Times at Waldport. Mr. and Mrs. John Swan were Tuesday evening dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oral Williams. The occasion honored Mrs. Swan on her birthday anniversary. Mrs. Louis Slaton and and Mrs. Ernest Graham re turned last week from San Fran cisco where Mrs. Graham vis ited with her daughter and Mrs. Slaton met her husband. She said they both took winter cloth es and the weather was t>i the 90's while they were there, with everyone in the bay region en- joyin it to the fullest. Miss Shereen Muir, who has been employed in Salem will be home for a time and is assisting her parents in their bakery.. Also working in the bakery is Mrs Maudie Flatman. The Gertrude Shoemaker Cir cle of the Christian church met Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Arthur Hedge. Mrs. Ed Cooke was program leader. Refresh ments were served by the host ess. Present were Mrs. Ed Cooke. Mrs E. K. Fish, Mrs. George Flook. Mrs. Susie Haynes, and Mrs Arthur Hedge. The December meeting will be a combined meeting with the Martha Troxell Circle in the form of a Christmas party. Date and place will be announced later. O. M. MikkelM-n surprised his daughter, Mrs. Leo Poole, and family with a short visit Mon day. He was on a business trip to Portland and The Dalles. The Mikkelsens are former Mill City residents now living in Oakland. Calif. A week ago Sunday Charley Stewart had a nice experience. His brother. Jack of Hermiston flew to Mill City, picked up Charley and their two children Nancy and Charley Jr., and Mike Logan and flew them back to Hermiston for the day. It took on ly and one and a half hours to make the trip. Charley stated the scenery from their was a sight to behold. The day was clear as crystal When they te- turned Jack flew them to Salem airport, where they were picked up and returned to Mill City.
