Next Tuesday we are celebrating the 5th year of
producing plywood at our Lyons Plywood Plant.
In observance of reaching this milestone we are
having an open house so the familiesof our employ
ees can see what dad does to bring home the bacon.
In the course of 5 years, we have produced 375 mil
lion square feet of plywood which would make a 4
foot wall one half inch thick stretching from Ly
ons, Oregon to London, England and back. The
plant over this five-year period has provided em
ployment for 325 persons w ith a combined income
of $8,700,000.
The continuation of this substantial contribution
to the economy of the North Santiam area is fur
ther assured through the opening of new timber
reserve in the Thomas Creek area.
