TOWN TALK Mrs. Andy Anderberg spent Tuesday in Portland where she visited her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Yorke of Portland, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ber- natzki of Drain, spent the week end at the home of Mr. a«d Mrs. Elmer Shaw. Mr. and Mrs. Verda Goble who recently moved to Stayton visited Mill City friends and relatives Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Beissel of Portland spent the weekend in Gates at the home of her par ents. Mr. and Mrs Floyd Fleet wood. Mr. and Mm. Hugh Jull of Salem were Sunday guests at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shepherd. Allan Haywood and Donald Cree went to Medford Saturday evening where they attended a sports car show. They returned Sunday evening. Elmer Peterson, proprietor of Hilltop Market is ill at his home in Silverton, however he ex pects to be back on the job after a short rest. Mrs. Anna Swift is improving at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Landro at Astoria. She plans to return to her home here in a week or so. No special programs were held in Mill City in observance of Veterans Day however it was a holiday for the schools and a few of the stores and offices. Leaving early in the morning the first stop was at Crooked River gorge, near Madras, which is breathtaking- ly beautiful. Then on to Pelton dam, where the group stopped to take pictures and a view of the dam and surrounding scenic spots. From there they went on down the Wapanita cutoff to Tim berline Ixxige where a tour of the lodge was made and a look through the telescopes at the mountains which were sparsely covered with snow.
