The Mill ON THE SCENIC NORTH SANTIAM HIGHWAY — GATEWAY TO THE HEART OF NATI RE’S EMPIRE VOLUME XV NUMBER 38 MILL < ITY. OREGON Work Started On Sportsmen's Lodge at Lake Work Begins on Sportsmen's Lodge at Detroit Lake Twenty-five members and their families turned out Sunday to pour the piers for the Sportsmen’s Club lodge at Detroit Lake. The owners of the RiverBend Sand & Gravel Co. in Salem donated the concrete. It was delivered to the Lakeshore site in three huge mixer trucks. They also brought a 10-yard dump truck load of fine gravel. This was spread around the fireplaces and tables. A Santiam Centennial coin was imbedded in one of the piers as was the names of all members present to help with the ■work. Next Sunday the work crew will be in charge of Sam Wizer and more ■work will be done on the water sys tem. It is expected to get that job done and the sills for the main lodge in place yet this year. So far the pledge cards, sent out last month have brought in 125 and several hours of labor have been pledged. President Jerry Coffman an nounced that there are now several names on the waiting list for mem bership in the club. Gene Coles, building committee chairman has a material list and any members wishing to donate some ma terial can contact him in Mehama.
