area 150 miles wide and 300 miles
long ?
That, because of its aerodynamic
characteristics, the

the
world’s fastest fighter, must operate
at speeds at least equal to that of
the speed of sound when flying above
35 000 feet ?
That the cooling system on a sup

JOHN W. REID. M. D,
Physician and Surgeon
MILL CITY, OREGON
Lee Carlson, who has made his home in Mill City
since 1907 has a unique hobby—that of making Dutch
windmills. In the picture above in the foreground is the
largest he has on his place located on N. W. Alder street
in Mill City. In the background can be seen a smaller
model. This one has a contrivance that operates a little
man churning butter. He has made several of the mills
for friends.
Mr. Carlson who at one time worked for Hammond
Lumber Co. now spends his time fixing up his three-room
home, and building the windmills. About the longest time
he has been away from Mill City since locating here in
1907 was a year spent in the Navy during World War I.
In making a tour of the neat abode the Enterprise man
was informed he was getting rid of his wood range, and
putting in an electric stove and electric hot water heater.
He is refinishing the interior of his kitchen with emboss
ed plywood Mr. Carlson, in commenting on the recent
storm said "we live in the best place in the country.”
