The project, h i having for its theme, Con- iervation, observes the 50ih birtnday o! Campfire. The girls will plant a Silk tree on the grounds of the New Santiam high school. This tree has been purchased by the girls with money collected at their , meetings. The planting will take place at 2:30. The Mill City Campfire group is sponsored by the Mill City Womans Club, with individual sponsors from the club assisting e ch gloup. DeLyle Howard was born in Wau kegan, Illinois, on August 21». 18»1- She had lived in Oregon since 1005, and wa- married to Lee D.ke on Sep tember 10, 1008. She passed away in a Salem hospital where she has been hospitalized for over two years. Surviving are tne husband, Lee Dike of Mill City, and a daughter, Gweneth Dike Lindenmayer (Mrs. John Edward t, f Eureka California; also a sister, Winifred Homan, of Denver, Colorado. Soloists at the cemetery were Gwen Schaer and her daughter of Gates. Pallbearers, all Oddfellows, were Bert Morris, Otto Witt, Herbert Schroeder. Elmer Stewart, Ray White, and August Koeneke.
