Speech Consultant To Be At Elementary School for Interviews On today, November 6, Dr. Nor ton Young, a speech and hearing con sultant who works with the State Department of • Education, will visit the Mill City Elementary School for the purpose of interviewing child ren who have problems or difficult ies in hearing or speaking distinctly. His work is resigned to help children | overcome these difficulties early in ' their school life through conseling, the use of special teaching techni ques, referrals to clinics, and by other means. It parents of elementary child ren wish to have their children re ferred to Dr. Young for a conference, they should so indicate by sending a I requst to the school office. Children who appear to be need of help will be referred by the school with out special requests being made by the parents. Gates School Invites Parents to Observe "Education Week" GATES—-All parents are urged to visit school during Educational Week, November 10 through November 14. [A special invitation is herewith ex- I tend’d to the parents of the first four grades, to visit sch . 1 on Wednesday, front 8:45 until noon. The upper four grades are asking their parents to come to school Thursday morning, November 13th. All parents are wel come to stay to lunch. Nothing special is being planned for these days, but we want the parents to see the school at it really is. We want you to enjoy with us, the pleas ure that comes is seeing your child learn, said Bill Gleason .principal. Education Week, is a special time set aside for parents to come to school to: visit the class room; to see the school in action; to get a bet ter understanding of the school and your child. It is very important in the education of your child, that you take an active interest in his education. The school cannot do a good job of ed ucating any child if the parent and the school do not look upon education as a co-operative venture. However please note there will be no school on Nov. 10 or 11, due to Teacher’s institute in Albany on Mon day and Veteran's Day, Nov. 11.
