October 2« As usual political pressure is be ginning to build up a tremendous head of steam, w'hich will come to a climax on November 4, when voters of the state will go to the polls to vote for their favorite candidates. It would certainly be confusing to anyone not raised in this country to figure there would be any semblance of harmony after all the mudslinging of a heated campaign. However, fol lowing the battle, no matter which side wins, things always seem to level off, and business goes on as usual. Years ago, the registration of the rarties certainly foretold the outcome of an election. That is not the case now as there is lots of fence-jump ing when it comes to marking the ballot, and this is good, as not all the good candidates are in cr.e party any more than all the good apples are on any one tree. This year, especially, it will be in teresting to see how many Republi cans will be elected when the Demo crats have the most registerd voters. Residents on the Marion county1 side of the river in Mill City will vote at the old bank building and in Linn county ballots will be marked at friendship hall of the Presbyter ian church. In Fox Valiev voting will be done at Rebekah hall. Mehama voters vote at the Presby terian church. In Gates the polling place is at the Parker-Hutchpion Furniture building. Detroit and Idan ha on the Marion county side, vote at the Idanha city hall. Voters in Linn county at Idanha, vote at Gates or by absentee ballot.
