AUGUST 2«. 1958 Detroit-Idanha By Jessie Savage Visitors attending services at the Detroit Church of Christ were Mr and Mrs. Hart of Longview, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Conrad N’ystrom and four children of Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Ebar and son are moving to Corvallis where Mr. Ebar will enroll at Oregon State. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Graham and children are moving to Eugene. Mr. Graham was superintendent of De troit school last term. Mr. Thomas and daughter, from California were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Leming recently. Carla Juht was a house guest of Beth Lyda of Turner for a few days. A birthday party was held Monday afternoon at Mongold for Rita Sav age. Helping Rita to celebrure the event of her 10 birthday anniversary were Bonita Clester, I.inda and Donna Brown, Christina Nyberg, June Mc Cauley, Sandia Tompkins, Margaret Baker, Donna Storey, Becky Wenke, Douglas Graham, Dennis Stoll, Terry, Tony and Rebecca Savage. After the group Mi joyed a swim, refreshments were served by Rita’s mother, Mrs. Athel Savage and her aunt, Mrs John Savage. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Swayze have purchased the John Meals property at Detroit and plan on moving within the next two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Lon Trix from the Salem District of the highway de partment are moving to Detroit. Mrs. Tenny Moore and family from Medford were visitors recently for a short while at the Ranger Sta tion. She left her daughter. Mary Lou to visit Penny Dean for a few days. Charley Bristow from Prineville was a recent visitor in these two com f munities with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Farrell and family from Waldport were visitors Saturday in Idanha . nesday to a party for their son Curtis on his 4th birthday anniversary. The family did not know of Mr. Juhl’s surgery until the party was over, as he did not wish to spoil his son’s party. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Julian and son, Glen Jr., spent the weekend with relatives in Washington. They with a group planned to spend the weekend at Ranier. The regular monthly fellowship dinner will be held at the Lyons Methodist church Firday evening at 6:30 p. m., followed by a short pro gram and music. All members and friends are invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Roidt and two sons from San Andreas, Calif., spent several days at the home of Mrs. Leota Worden and daughter, Marjorie. Rev. Mrs. Earl Cotton and hus- band left Monday for 1 the coast where they will spend several days. The Southern Pacific section has been discontinued at Lyons temporar ily. Earl Harper, section forman, has been sent to Turner. The men em ployed here were sent to sections at various places. Karen Kallunki from Clatskanie spent last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Prichard, as a house guest of their daughters. Tommy Grimes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Grimes, returned home Sunday evening from Honolulu, after spending the last two months there at the home of his brother and sister- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Grimes.
