Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Stellmack
and daughter, Lorna, from St. Cloud,
Minn, visited Wednesday and Thurs­
day at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Jobe. Mr. Stellmack is a
nephew of Mrs. Jobe.
Mrs. Sarah Cookingham and grand
daughter, Rande Becker, of Salem
and Mrs. Helver Johnson of Liberty
attended church services at the Lyons
Methodist church Sunday morning,
and were dinner guests at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Roye. Both
Mrs. Cookingham and the Johnsons
are former residents here.

Mr. and Mrs. William Grimes left
Monday morning for San Francisco,
Calif. From there they will return to
Honolulu. Mrs. Grimes has spent the
past six weeks here due to the illness
and death of her father, Forrest
I Nldegger. Bill, who ia stationed In
I Honolulu with the Navy, came for
the funeral.
Wednesday evening guests at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jobe
were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wylie and
sons of Corvallis and their friend,
Lee Todd of Albany. Mrs. Wylie is
a daughter of Mrs. Jobe.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald W. Weaver
of hairfield, Mont., are visiting at
the home of his brother, Wendell
Weaver and family.

pleasantly surprised Sunday evening
when members of Acacia Chapter of
Eastern Star lodge of Stayton honor­
ed them with a house-warming and
pot-luck supper. They also were pre­
sented with a gift. Those attending
were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tate, Mr.
and Mrs. George Core, Mr. and Mrs.

The Annual Linn County Grange
picnic was held Sunday at the San-
tiam Valley grange hall due to the
stormy weather. It was scheduled to
be held at the North Santiam State
park, with all county granges to par­
ticipate. A picnic lunch was served :
at the noon hour followed by a pro­
gram with games and other enter­
tainment.
