MISS MABEL ELLEN LUCAS
Miss Mabel Ellen Lucas of Brook­
line, Mass., has been named Presi­
dent of The Mother Church, The
First Church of Christ, Scientist, in
Boston, Mass., it was announced re­
cently.
Active in various capacities in the
Christian Science movement, she is
a native of Idaho and grew up in i
Spokane, Wash. She joined The Mo-'
ther Church in 1906 and for many
years has devoted her full time to the
public practice of Christian Science
healing.
Miss Lucas’ appointment was an­
nounced by The Christian Science
Board of Directors at the Annual
Meeting of the Christian Science
church. The term of office is one

Methodist church, Sunday, June 16,
at 7:30 p. m. Dr. Edwards, an or­
dained minister comes as a man of
proven ability and wide experience.
Dr. Edwards begins two weeks of
Evangelistic meetings next Sunday,
June 16, and will close Sunday June
30. Special music will be furnished
by “Peace in the Valley” quartet;
John Beegle, bass from Vancouver,
Wn„ and Herbert Hansen, tenor,
from Corvallis. The public is invited.
Film Coming to Assembly
Of God Church Tuesday
The public is invited to see two
great films at the Assembly of Goß,
Tuesday, June 18 at 7:45.
The “Nile Mother” is a 44-minute
film in sound and color. It was film­
ed in Egypt, and portrays the out­
standing story of Lillian Trasher and
her orphanage.
The other film is entitled "A Cer­
tain Nobleman” based on the fourth
hcapter of John.
