Len Davis, of Idanha, is employed as fire watch by the Pete Eliason Logging Co. John Cooper, employee of the Eliason Logging Company received a painful eye injury while at work Wed nesday. A piece of steel was removed from his eye. A regional meeting of the National Forest recreation association was held Tuesday at Pilot Butte hotel in Bend. Members from this area were in at tendance. A meeting of the mothers of pie school childen will be held in the cafe teria at the Detroit school Thursday afternoon. May 20 at 1 p. m. Mrs. Russell Hoyt will take care of the children in her room, while the moth ers attend the meeting. Mrs. E. Cole of Salem, school nurse, will show a special movie, and give a short talk on topics relating to pre-school child ren. Mrs. Betty Sanders, Marion county rural school supervisor will also be a guest speaker. The regular Primary election, held every other year, will be held at the I Idanha fire hall, Friday, May 21 from 8 a. m. until 8 p.m. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Mattoon last Wednesday was Hicks Baker of Oswego. Weekend viistors in Detroit were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bullard of The Dalles. Looks like spring has finally nosed old man winter out. Low humidity closed down mills and logging opera tions part of Thursday and Friday in this area. Mills resumed work in the evening. Saturday evening the season s first thunder storm occured, bringing with it hail and rain. No damage reported. Mr. and Mrs. John Estey motored to Portland Tuesday where Johnny will consult a bone specialist in regards to his arm. The arm was bioken last January when he fell from the top of a load of logs he was unloading one frosty morning. Since the cast was removed, Johnny has been packing around a weight, but still the arm re fuses to straighten. Don Clark of San Francisco was in I Mr. and Mra.
