DETROIT

A birthday party was held Thurs­
day afternoon at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Starr Reed, in honor of little
Miss Allison Reed, who celebrated
her fourth birthday. Guests were
Eddy Loewen, Peggy Moore, Terry
Dean, Michael and Patty Kettleson,
Frankie and Liz Moore, and Patricia
■Reed. Also present were Mmes. Ed.
Loewen, Francis Kettleson, Frank
Moore and Reed.
Burl Stealy, forest service scaler
received a deep and painful cut to his
knee when he fell off the top of a load
of logs he was scaling at Blow Out
Creek. He was taken to Mill City
where 12 or 14 stictches were neces­
sary to close the wound.
Mrs. John Estey of Detroit re­
ceived a telephone call from Wash­
ington, D. C., Friday night from her
nephew, Sgt. /iorman Booker. He said
he will arrive soon at the Estey home
to spend a 30 day fulough.
The Shuffleboard, off the record,
challenge game, between The Lake
and Spillway played Wednesday a
