DETROIT By Boots Champion Mr. and Mrs. Francis Stout, and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Brown, spent the weekend at Summer Lake, goose hunting. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Oja left here | Tuesday for Seattle, where they spent Thanksgiving with relatives. The Monument Peak Logging Co., formerly known as Lee's Logging Co. | which moved logging operations to the “Law Head Creek” area, from “Sar dine Creek,” was forced to close down for the present because of a logging road washout due to recent heavy rains. Visiting at the Raymond Sophy i home for a few days this week is Mrs. 1 Sophy’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. | and Mrs. Bill Waters, of Bremerton. Ed. Lowen is new dispatcher for the , Detroit district of the Willamette Na tional Forest. Mr. Lowen came here 1 from a similar position at Oak Grove, in the Mt. Hood National Forest. The | Lowens and their 18-month old son, Eddy, are occupying the clerk’s house at the ranger station. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Russell are spending Thanksgiving at the home of Mrs. Russell’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Harris in McMinnville. A special feature at The Lake Sat urday night will be a return engage ment of Cecil Fitzell and his Night Hawks, a Portland orchestra. Thanksgiving dinner guests at the Gordon Brown home will be Mr. and Mrs. John Este, Enid Bennett and Joe Arsenault. Holiday dinner guests at the Harold I Champion home will be Mrs. Anna Stevens and daughter, Dona Rae. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Heibert and children, Harold, Jimmie and Jerry of Idanha will celebrate two family Thanksgiving dinners. On Thursday they will be guests at the home of Mrs. Heibert’s uncle and aunt, the J. T. Weins of Dallas. Mrs. Heibert’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Eddiger and family will also be guests. On Friday the Heiberts will motor to the home of Mr. Heibert’s brother and sisteri-n-law, the Arnold Hei- bert’s near Monmouth, where they will be guests at another Thanksgiv ing dinner. Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Howard of Idanha will be dinner guests on Thurs day at the home of their grandchild ren, the H. C. Marshall’s in Scappose.
