LYONS—Mrs. Orville Downing was
hostess for the meeting of the Garden
club at her home Wednesday after
noon. With the resignation of two
officers, the president and secretary,
the main business was to elect new
ones. Gertrude Weidman was elected
president and Ann Holzfuss vice presi
dent and Gladys Kuiken secretary.
Each member answered roll call by
“things that should be done this
month.” Program and entertainment
was furnished by Winnie Branch who
showed colored picture slides of var
ious flower gardens, also scenic pic
tures nearby and scenic pictures of
Alaska.
Plans were discussed for the next
meeting which will be held at the
home of Ann Holzfuss with the Christ
mas party and gift exchange, with
each member to answer roll call by
I bringing some Christmas decoration
or suggestion. At the close of the
meeting dainty refreshments were
served to Eula Monroe, Winnie
Branch. Gertrude Weidman, Glayds
Kuiken, Esther Stienfelt, Ann Holz
fuss, Eva Bressler and the hostess
Mrs. Downing.
