Mr. and Mrs. Merle Seitzinger of
Cascade Locks, were holiday visitors

turned to their home in Renton, Wash.,
after spending a week at the home of

his family, the M. D. Rays, who own
the sport fishing resort at Neah Bay.
Earl Lady, son of Mr. and Mrs. O.
C. Lady of Idanha, who is in the navy
and stationed at Norfolk, Virginia,
arrived home last week on a week's
furlough.
Mr. and Mrs. Pat Crawford of the
Dalles, were callers in Idanha and
Detroit. Mr. Crawford, an army sur­
vey engineer, and his wife, resided at
Mongold about two years ago.
Johnny Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Len Davis of Idanha, is spending a
few days at the home of Gladys Carey,
a long time family friend, in Tacoma,
Wash. Johnny, who is attending Nor­
mal School at Monmouth, Ore., will
leave here September 15 for the fall
term.
Sunday visitors at the Len Davis
home were Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Mostul
| and children Lila and Tommy, of Ore­
gon City. Mr. Mostul is Mrs. Davis’
brother. Other guests were Mr. and
'(Mrs. George Lynch of Bend. While
here they drove to Elk Lake to pick
huckleberries. They were joined later
in the day by the Davis’.
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Beason of Eu­
gene spent the holidays at their ca­
bin here.

district representative, was a business
caller in Idanha and Detroit on Wed­
nesday.
Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Hines of Silver-
ton, are the new restaurant operators
at the Spillway in Idanha, succeeding
Mrs. John Dallaire.
The Detroit Market’s application
for a class B package license, approv­
ed by the city council a few weeks ago,
was approved by the liquor commis­
sion. The license went into effect last
week.
District ranger S. T. Moore, will be
host at a meeting of the girl scouts,
Detroit-Idanha area, when the group
visits the Detroit Ranger Station on
Thursday, September 10. Moore will
speak on several aspects of the for­
ester's job, such as reforestation, fire­
protection and conservation.
The Detroit Church of Christ will
hold a Sunday school picnic Sunday,
September the 13th at Humbug camp
grounds after the morning church ser­
vice. The no-host fare will be served
to the picnickers. All are invited.
