(Too late for last week)
Mrs. Lille Wolfkiel has recently
sold her home to Mr. and Mrs. Larry
Kimsey. Friends and neighbors assist
ed her in moving and renovating her
newly purchased house across from
Ken Golliet s store. Quits unused to
moving, Mrs. Wolfkiel had lived in her
home ever since coming to Mehama
2U j ears ago, she says she’ll never
move again.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Thompson are
the proud parents of a son, Christian
Dwane, who was born Tuesday, Aug
ust 18, at 7:17 A. M. Chris weighed
8 lbs, 4 oz. He is now at home in the
Thompson home in Mehama.
Sunday visitors at the Jack Smith
home were Betty Collier and Tom Col
lier, sister and nephew of Mrs. Smith,
and their daughter, Mary, who is
spending the summer with Betty and
Tom at her grandmother’s home in
Turner.
Mrs. Pearl Allaway, who recently
returned from a trip back east, says
the slums of eastern cities are almost
unbelievable. Citing Pittsburgh, Penn.,
she said that people were living out
side in alleys. Stoves and clotheslines
filled the streets. Children were nu
merous with little tots darting in and
out amongst the traffic.

Because of the Highway Lifesavers
state_wide program alerting citizen
interest, there has been a noticeable
stepping-up of all traffic safety acti
vities by local voluntary and official
safety organizations. Traffic safety
officials of the state, counties and
cities report that the coordination of
citizens groups in traffic safety work
through the state organization is pro
viding tiie public interest that was at
times lacking heretofore.
