Crowell returned last week from Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she attended the wedding of her son Maniford Boggs. He married Miss Lois Hull of Coos Bay, Oregon. He is stationed at Oceans Base there. A picnic dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Toland and children. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hodges from Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Jaeger, Jay and Paul from Salem, Winnie Jaeger and George Beaches from Dalles, Gladys Stiffler and W’lllard Morgan of Lyons. Miss Joy Kuiken, a graduate from Oregon College of Education at Mon mouth, and daughter of Mrs. Elva Kuiken of Lyons, is spending the summer in Alaska, visiting with a girl friend and working. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Aronson and son from Enderlin, North Dakota,, ar rived in Lyons Friday, where they will visit at the home of his brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alwood Ar onson. Miss Marilyn Baltzer, who has been employed in a bank at Seattle, W'ash. has returned to the home of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Baltzer. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Burl Smith were Mr. and Mrg. Everette Garn and daughter Su-_ san from Les Vegas, Nevada. Airs. Garn is a sister of Mrs. Smith. A family gathering was held Sun day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ar thur Olmstead. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Edmondson, Sherri, Wal ter Lee and Lynn from Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Edmondson, Ronald and Ray from Oak Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Olmstead of Mill City, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olmstead. Judy, and neice, Nancy, from Coburg. Juanita Kunkle, Kathryn Johnston, Donna Downer, Sharon Toland and Sandra Rowen spent last week at the Girl Scout camp at Smith Creek camp at Silver Creek Falls. Recent guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gerath and family were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Parlin and family from Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Christine Roth from South Gate, Cal., Mrs. John Kuehn, Pete Kuehn from Madison, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Kate Kertz from Rochester, Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Willia Lorenz and children from Enid, Oklahoma, are at the home of her mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Skeils. The plan to locate here. Mr. and Mrs. E. Sivigny and chil dren from Robbinsdale, Minnesota, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Roy. Kathryn Neal, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Weidman, was taken to the Dorenbecker hospital in Portland, July 8th where she will spend some time for treatment. Mrs. Hazel Lewis, chaplain, and Mrs. Marjorie Gentry of Stayton, in side guardian, attended the Rebekah convention held at Monmouth. The two ladies are both officers of the Rebekah Assembly of Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Allen were in Salem Saturday, where they attended the Rural Carriers Golden Jubilee con vention. Allen is carrier out of Lyons. Mrs. Marvin Berry is convalescing at home following major surgery at the Santiam Memorial hospital.
