Marlene White was also home for the Iaibor Day weekend and the group attended the fair in Salem on Monday. Guy Armstrong, minister of the Christian church at Turner visited friends at Detroit recently. Mr. Arm strong assisted in organizing the local church a number of years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Southard, former residents of Camp Mongold, are in Portland for a short time and expect to leave soon for a new ai signment at McNary dant. Mrs. Frank Moore and her little son, Frankie, left the Detroit ranger station Friday for Monument Peak lookout, where Mrs. Moore will as sume the duties of lookout during the closing weeks of fire season. The lookout is one of the state fire protec tive stations of the Linn county fir# patrol association. Mrs. Hazel Matlock of Eugene vii- ited recently with her nephew and family, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dean, at the ranger station. Mr. and Mrs. David Loughran moved recently from Mongold to Lookout Point. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cal Schlador during the “Mt week were Mr. and Mrs. George Em- boden of North Hollywood, Calif., formerly of Silverton, and Mr. and Mrs. North Ames of Silverton. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Steers the past weekend included Mr. Steer's cousin and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith of Corval lis, and Mrs. Steer’s brother, David Hanson of Seaside and his two com panions, Bob Everett and Donald Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Gib Pruitt and daugh ter, Charlene, of Corvallis visited the ranger station Sunday. They were former residents of Detroit. Six Mongold families moving last weekend to Lookout Point included Mr. and Mrs. John Osburne, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Burke, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Traw, Mr. and Mrs. Barton, Mr. and Mrs. Neville, Mr. and Mrs. Acorn. Some of the men will be de- tailed to McNary dam on temporary assignments for a few months. Mr. and Mrs. C. E.
