Wins CE Essay Contest
Miss Donna Lee Plymale, former
Mill City girl, has been selected as
one of five finalists in a national
Christian- citizenship contest spon
sored by the International Society of
Christian Endeavor. Miss Plymale is
the niece of Mr. and Mrs. Irl Plymale
of Mill City.
She recently won the Pacific coast
regional contest for girls. Her par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Plymale, ex
pect to send her to the national Chris
tian Endeavor convention at Wash
ington, D.C. in June, where she will
receive the regional prize.
Miss Plymale, a student at North
western Christian college. Eugene, is
president of the Oregon Christian En
deavor union. During the past two
years she competed in the Parshad
essay contest for the United Christian
Youth movement, and placed first in
state competition both years.

Boy Scout News
The Mill City Boy Scouts had
good time at the Camporee last Satur
day and Sunday. We left Mill City
at about 8:30. Mr. Tuers drove us
up and back in his panel truck.
Unfortunately there was not an
awful lot of sleeping done, they did
not blow reveille because everyone
was up. At the camp fire the troops
put on skit.
The Boy Scouts held their regular
meeting Wednesday night at the high
school recreation room.
We had patrol meetings then we
held our business meeting. We talked
about the Camporee.
First Bruce
Thomas talked, then Tony Boothby,
Terry Muir, David Jones, and Lahny
Podrabsky.
After the meeting we
watched the baseball game.
