Little Known Facts
Mrs. Lee Pinkston was hostess to
the Mill City Camp Fire Leader Asso
ciation monthly meet, last Tuesday.
Plans were made for the spring all
city ceremonial, Friday, May 16. This
ceremonial is being held in Mill City
this year.
Mrs. S. W. Horn, field director, and
Mrs. Shepherd, training chairman, of
Salem were present for the local
Camp Fire leader’s February meeting.
The reason for holding the cere
monial in Mill City was given by Mrs.
Harman, when she stated, “As there
are so many more Camp Fire and
Blue Bird girls than there has been
for sometime, it was decided to have
a ceremonial in Mill City instead of
taking the girls to Salem as before.
It is at this ceremonial that ranks
and special awards are granted.

dars and plan to attend.”
Mrs. Pinkston and Mrs. Charles
Harman attended the Salem training
school for Camp Fire Guardians in
Salem, Tuesday, Mrs. S. M. Zeller,
chairman of Region VI, of Corvallis,
and Miss Garner, regional field di
rector, of Spokane, Wash., were the
speakers.

Receives Charter
Deep mystery still shrouds the exact
details of the PTA program being
planned by the fathers of the group
for the March 12th meeting.
The
committee has disclosed nothing of
what is to be expected by school pa
trons at the “Dad’s Day” program,
though they are assured that atten
dance will prove worthwhile.
PTA meeting will be held, as usual,
in the high school auditorium at 8
p.m. on Wednesday, March 12 with
the fathers also in charge of refresh-
ments.
Nominations of officers for the
1952-53 school year will comprise part
of the business session of the eve
ning.
Mill City Toastmistress club now is
a full-fledged charter club in the in
ternational organization.

Edna Hutcheson of Mill City and first
president of the local speech club,
introduced the evening’s distinguished
guests. Mrs. Ida Geddes, honorary
member of the club who recently cele
brated her 97th birthday, delighted the
entire audience with her wonderful
manner of speaking.
