ELSIE MYERS The Mehama Local of the Farmers Union held their regular business meeting Friday night. After the rou­ tine business was carried out reports were made on Kefauver and Eisen- hauser as presidential candidates by Bob Draper and W. R. Stevens. Plans were«made for a cafeteria dinner to be held in the womens club on Feb. 23 for the benefit of the union. Visitors included Ed. Zimmer­ man president of the Sublimity local and Pat Gohrman of Stayton. Re­ freshments were served at the close of the meeting. Reports were also heard on the Marion County Convention which was recently held at Marion from Cleve O'Neil and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hayes. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Myers left Wednesday for southern California, where they will spend sometime at the hot springs. Mr. Myers is re­ covering from a recent back operation. Callers at the Steve Dark home Sunday included Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sprague of Salem and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Coleman of Milwaukie. Steve Myers of Oswego spent sev­ eral days the past week at their home on the Little North Fork. He was joined over the weekend by Mr3. Myers who is assistant principal in the Oswego high school. Mr. and Mrs. Ike Myers enter­ tained a small group of friends in their home Saturday evening. The evening was spent in playing pinochle. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bickett, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Long- necker and Mr. and Mrs. Carl E. Nuttieman. Phyllis Bickett, who has been ill for sometime with Brights disease is much improved but still confined to her home.
