The Mehama Local of the Farmers
Union held their regular business
meeting Friday night. After the rou
tine business was carried out reports
were made on Kefauver and Eisen-
hauser as presidential candidates by
Bob Draper and W. R. Stevens.
Plans were«made for a cafeteria
dinner to be held in the womens club
on Feb. 23 for the benefit of the
union. Visitors included Ed. Zimmer

and Pat Gohrman of Stayton. Re

Steve Myers of Oswego spent sev
eral days the past week at their home
on the Little North Fork. He was
joined over the weekend by Mr3.
Myers who is assistant principal in
the Oswego high school.

nephew named Patrick Stephen. The
babe is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. S.
Campbell of Mobile. Alabama.
An all women team of shuffle
board was played in Detroit between
Detroit and Mill City last Wednesday,
Feb. 6th. The score was Detroit 148
—Mill City 146. The Detroit girl»
wore logger outfits and the Mill City
girls wore “Derbies”.
Cedar Tavern, Detroit, played Falls
tavern, Sublimity, Feb. 10th. Score
was Detroit 178—Sublimity 128.
Mrs. Anna Stevens and Mrs. Eric
Nyberg went to Salem on business
Susan Rynearson was a very sick
little girl for a few days, but is very
much improved now.
Red Rynearson had his finger
dressed yesterday. He had the end of
it cut off in a freak accident a week
or so ago, he got it caught in a door.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Manning have
moved their cafe from Detroit proper
to the top of of the hill. They are
located in the old Santiam tavern
building for the time being, or until
the water gets up to them.
