ALBERT MILLSAP The Gates Home Extension unit -will meet in an all day session, Tues day, Feb. 12, at the home of Mrs. Joe Joaquin. The meeting will start at 10:30 a.m. Project leaders Mrs. Glen Henness and Mrs. Burrel Cole will demonstrate ready mixes-home made. Anyone interested is welcome to at tend. The president of the unit, Mrs. Floyd Völkel, is requesting that those attending bring a portion of their favorite salad, this to be served at luncheon with hot rolls, made by the project leaders from the ready mix just demonstrated. According to the February news letters, members of the county and alumni committees to visit this meeting. One of the pleasantest affairs of the season was a surprise housewarming and post-nuptial shower honoring Mrs. Collis Heath (Frances Young) at her home Wednesday evening of last week. Mrs. Harold Wilson and M rs. Elmer Stewart were hostesses and had invited many of Mrs. Heath’s former school mates anil friends. Games and the opening of the many lovely gifts provided entertainment for the evening. Mrs. Warren Varcoe spent the last week in Portland visiting her mother, Mrs. Rose Stewart and old friends and incidently her dentist. Mrs. Glen Hearing and son, ac companied by Mrs. Joe Joaquin spent the day in Salem, Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Follett and daughter, Ellen, of Wallport, spent Thursday and Friday at the home of his nephew, Norman Garrison. They returned home Saturday morning. Mrs. Lula Collins and Mrs. Alta Leedy visited in Lyons, Thursday, at the home of Mrs. Collin’s daughter, Mrs. C. Roseheim. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Slater and two children have returned to their home in Gates after having resided in Aumsville for several months.
