Grandma Julian was honored on
her 87 birthday anniversary with a
dinner held at the home of her daugh­
ter in Albany. Seven out of her ten
children were present. Present were
the honored guest Grandma Julian,
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Johnson of Albany,
Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Julian of Auburn,
Washington, Joe Julian from Wadus-
ka, Nevada, Ralph Julian from Comp-
ton, Calif., Mrs. Ida Barkley from
South Gate, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Al-
bert Julian, Hurley Julian of Lyons.
The other three sons who were unable
to attend also sent her greeting.

Tuesday evening the Sunday sch6ol
class of young adults met at the par­
sonage for a social evening, Games
were played and the business meeting
conducted by Mrs. Leonard Cruson.
It was decided to co-operate with the
church by conducting a nursery class
during the church worship hour, giv­
ing parents with small children a
chance to attend. Also a paper drive
was planned for the next two weeks,
to raise funds for improvements of
classrooms. Attending were Mr. and
Mrs. Ivan Smith, John Prideaux,
Mrs. Leo Cruson, Mrs. Leonard Cru­
son, Mrs. Earl Thayer, Mrs. Howard
! Naue, and Rev. and Mrs. R. A. Feen-
• stra. Refreshments were served at
the close of the evening.
Mrs. Leia Smith from Cornelius,
Oregon, was a recent visitor at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Smith,
Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Barker from Nor-
tan, Kansas, also enjoyed the day
with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Henderson
and Mrs. Yvonne Warborn from St.
Helens, were guests at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lande, Mrs. War-
born is a cousin and Mr. Henderson
an uncle of Mrs. Lande.
The Three Links club held their
meeting Friday afternoon at the home
of Mrs. George Huffman. Mrs. Ray
Sischo, president, presided over the
meeting with a general discussion
held, with plans talked for the winter
months. Attending the meeting were

The Tamale sale sponsored by the

and held at the community club
house, Thursday evening, was well
attended. The ladies made 425 ta­
males which were sold early in the
l evening, with some being turned away
later in the evening. Guests were
I present from Stayton and Mehama.
Heneriette Walfer the Field Co­
ordinator from the college of Educa­
tion in Monmouth, was a guest at the
Mari-Linn school, Wednesday, Nov.
28. Miss Walfer makes an annual
visit to recent graduates from the
college. Mrs. Minnie Andrews who
, is Alumni secretary, accompanied her
on this visit.
The monthly meeting of the teach­
ers of the Mari-Linn school will hold
their December meeting, Monday eve­
ning, the 10th, at the home of Mrs.
Alice Huber for the teaching staff
and their families. A gift exchange
will follow the regular meeting at
7:30.
The Christmas pageant “Christmas
around the word” portraying Christ­
mas in seven countries is being cast
this week. Special music will also be
presented by two groups of children,
from the first grade through the
fourth, and fifth through the eighth.
Under the direction of Vivian Boyce,
the preschool children will also pre­
sent a number.
Mrs. Alice Huber honored her
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Donald Huber,
on her birthday anniversary, with
a party held at her home Saturday
afternoon. The afternoon was spent
informerly and dainty refreshments
served at the close of the afternoon.
Those honoring Mrs. Hubei' were Rose
I Thayer, Francis Gars jo, Helen Zim­
merman, Leola Phelps, Modena Carle-
. ton, Glenda Lindemann, Leulla Har-
| gin, Beth Prideaux, Sue Walton all of
Lyons and Betty Jean Johnson of

Officers and teachers of the Metho­
dist Sunday school held their regular
monthly meeting at the parsonage,
Thursday evening. The general dis­
cussion was making plans for the
Christmas program. Plans were also
made to raise money to send a goat
to Korea; also send toys and cloth­
ing to some Blackfeet Indian families
in Montana. Attending the meeting
j were Mr. and Mrs. John Prideaux,

Mrs. Clyde Bressler, Mrs. Alice Huber.
