5—THE Ml 1.1. CITY ENTERPRISE November 1. 1951 FEMME PAGE Deanha PTA Seeks New High School Detroit High Frosh Entertain Students Detroit — The freshmen class of Detroit high school played host to the student body Friday evening, Oct. 26, in the basement of the high school. The home economics room was decor ated in Halloween colors. Black and orange crepe paper streamers formed an archway overhead and numerous cutouts of black cats and witches decorated the scene. Curtis Kunkel and Frank Barton dressed the black board with hideous faces and a grave yard complete with headstones, witches and ghosts. Molly Vigil was in charge of game planning; and Joyce Watkins was gen eral chairman for the party. Although it was announced as a costume party there were a number who did not attend in costume. There were many very good costumes such as a negro family, husband, wife and pickaninny, Mary Gordon, Shirley O’ Brien and Patsy Ann Mareks; a Chinese man with cooley hat, sandals and mustache and very realistic was John Davis; a red and white polka-dot clown was Miss Kazi Inuzuka; a very good imitation of a flapper was Jon Tucker; three gypsy girls, Joyce Wat kins, Sally Ann Osborne and Loretta Nygaard; a master of ceremonies in cut-away was Robert Lady; an old witch, was Mrs. White. There were ghosts, and goblins, hay seeds and many others who made an enjoyable and entertaining evening. Refreshments consisted of sand wiches, potato chips, cookies, ice cream and cider. About 45 persons were served. Thirty-seven were stud ents of the high school. o • What a comfort it is, io tim« of serious illness, to know that hands—skilled ■ nd experienced in the task assigned—serve you with painstaking care. MILL CITY Halloween has hit and citizens study and clean up the results. Certain areas felt the furor of Halloween more than others and in varying ways. Roads got mysteriously blocked. Gates disappeared and railings went down. Windows of business houses, homes, and cars got smeared with soap. The trick-or-treators got the best end of the whole deal—plenty of goodies and fun.
