Applicants should give their names, expected salary, and qualifica tions to Mrs. Huber before June 6. The eighth grade of Mari-Linn school had two field trips this last week. The class was accompanied by their teacher and the school principal, Miss Vivian Boyce and Thomas Put man. Thursday they visited the Ore gon school for the deaf, the Coco Cola bottling plant and Mayflower milk Co. in Salem. Friday the annual trip to Stayton high school was taken. The students report they enjoyed both trips very much. Mrs. Donald McWhirk of Fox Valley was the honored guest at a party in the home of Mrs. Charles Cruson, Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Leonard Cruson was assistant hostess. Hon oring Mrs. McWhirk were Mrs. Robert Fetherston, Mrs. Oral Toland, Mrs. Marvin Toland, Mrs. Pearl Hudson, Mrs. Leo Cruson, Mrs. Barks of McMinnville, and Mrs. Ruth Johnson of Seaside. Mrs. Martha Poole’s absence last week at Mari-Linn necessitated the substituting of teachers. Mrs. Poole was called to Hubbard during her father’s illness and passing. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Burmester were Sunday guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Beran of Roger Mountain near Scio. The Berans have just had the interior of their home redecorated. Mrs. Doreen Hellemn was hostess for the afternoon card club during a party in the Rebekah hall Wednesday afternoon. A one-thirty dessert luncheon was served. Several tables of 500 were played. High score was held by Ida Free. Second high went to Bernice Bridges; low to Cora Jen ner. Ethel Huffman drew the travel ing prize.
