Toman Reports Survey Status Field reports are now complete for the Mill City industrial survey under taken by the large committee of civic leaders attending the April 24th survey meeting, according to Mayor Albert Toman, chairman of the indus trial survey committee for Mill City. Field surveys for Gates, under the leadership of Mayor Albert Millsap, and at Lyons, under the chairmanship oi Merrill Brassfield, also were under taken at the same time of the Mill City survey and have been completed. The completed field reports have been turned over to John F. Durr of Civic Service, professional survey con sultant who supervises this Canyon wide survey and development project. Writing of the preliminary drafts of the industrial surveys of Mill City, Gates, and Lyons is now approx imately 50 per cent complete. Pre- Lminary drafts for each of these community surveys should be avail- ;.ble for checking by each community committee by mid-June. Commendation for prompt and thor- i ugh completion of committee survey assigments has been received from Mr. Durr, in a letter just received by Mayor Toman. Today Mayor Toman heartily expressed his appreciation for the able services so willingly pro vided by every committee member. Mayor Millsap of Gates and Mr. Brassfield of Lyons also have received letters of appreciation from Mr. Durr in recognition of their committees’ services in promptly completing al) survey assignments. The Gates industrial survey com mittee headed by Mayor Millsap in cluded: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brisbin, Mrs. George Clise, Floyd Fleetwood, W. D. Grimes, W. R. Hutchison, Ray Lord, P. L. Till RSDAV, M 17. 1951 $2.50 a Year. ] ()<• a Copy Third Annual Aviation Day Sees Ralston Davis Airport Officials Book Famed "Swede” The Third Annual Airshow at Davis Airport Sunday afternoon, July 15, is an assured success now that Swede' Ralston, famed aviator and stunt pilot, has made final arrangements for a spectacular performance during the show, according to Byron Davis and Jim O’Leary who negotiated the booking of "Swede" for the July date. "Swede” has given airshows all over the state of Oregon. He will do his special brand of flying at New port this Sunday at the Newport Crab Festival. “Swede” is rated as one of the best of the top precision acrobatic pilots in the United States. Davis Airport officials are jubilant and con fident that they are bringing to the Canyon the year’s top entertainment program.
