OPAL WHITE Mrs. Mabel Moore, Detroit post- Xtiatress, has been confined to her home with influenza since Friday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Walt Ball were vis itors at the home of Mrs. Ball’s par ents, the Amos Clarke’s of Sheridan, on Friday night of last week return ing home on Saturday. Russ Bowman of Shell Beach, Cal- iforina, was a guest Sunday with nis brother and family of Detroit, the Al Bowmans. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Long of Port land were weekend guests at the Otis White home-coming down on Friday afternoon for the junior-senior play and returning to Portland on Sunday. Those attending the White Water boat races last Sunday from this com munity were Mrs. Pat Steele, Huber and Frieda Ray, Mr. and Mrs. John Ray, the Sam Palmertons and Mr. and Mrs. Cal Schlador. Mr. Bob Steele also joined the party for the races. He is located near Eugene with Die state police at present. Bv REBA SNYDER Mrs. Eugene Willcut flew to Snyder, Tex., last Friday to spend a few days with her husband. Mrs. Nina Tucker is staying with her children in her absence. George Miller, employee of the Idanha Lumber Co. lost two toes and sustained a mashed foot in the “dogs” on the carriage Monday morning and was taken to Salem in the ambulance. His brother, Marion, who fractured his leg at the same mill some time ago is still hospitalized, but expects to be released soon. Milo Harris began logging Monday morning. The snow is still pretty deep back in the woods, the boys report. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schaffer drove to Salem Saturday afternoon to visit her mother, Mrs. Hafley who is ill. Mrs. Schaffer reported her mother better. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Evenson and family were weekend guests at the home of his father, Even Evenson, and family. They called on friends here Sunday. The Schaffer cabins in west Idanha have had a face lifting and are ready for occupancy. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Budlong have moved into one, and Mrs. Lee Harrison will soon move into the other. Martin Rudys now occupy the Mitchell house and Mr. and Mrs. K. O. Swanson moved into the vacated Rudy house. Harold Perton left this area Tuesday morning with his wife and son. Perton indicated he is looking for a place where his wife’s health will improve. The Boy Scout committee men met Saturday night at the A. R. Snyder home for the purpose of making ap plication for the new charter and to register new committeemen and all Boy Scouts for another year. Three new Scouts in the troop Monday night brought the total to 24 members. The new boys are Wm. Cokenour of Idan ha, Andy Hyman of Detroit, a trans fer and Wm. C. Holton of Detroit. April 21 the boys will go with their Scoutmaster to Camp McCoy to work on their camp site. A special meeting of the Idanha Community church was called last Sunday night to discuss and adopt a constitution for the new church. Mr. Fred Evans, pastor, acted as chair man.
