Neb.), acted rapidly.

Isn't it amazing how quickly
home furnishings become soiled in
the winter time? My white glass
curtains in the living room, for in
stance, seem to absorb all the fire
place smoke — actually get grey.
Well, this week I decided to get an
early start on Spring cleaning and
washed all my curtains, blankets
and slipcovers, and when I dried
them, 1 almost cried — the curtains
were yellow — and so were my
beautiful white woolen blankets!
Luckily, though, a neighbor dropped
in just then and saved the day with
a package of a really wonder bluing
called “Whitex.” It's one of the six
related products put out by the
famous Tintex dye concern. It isn’t
an ordinary bluing or bleach, and
it works on all kinds of fabrics —
even nylon, rayon, silk and wool.
You’d never believe what that little
package did for my furnishings —
restored the original whiteness in a
jiffy! And imagine, being able to
use it on wool blankets and nylon
curtains — to say nothing of my
white nylon blouses and slips.
I think you'll be as excited as I
am about another budget-soother
made by the same house. It's a fast
acting color remover that needs no
boiling and works on all fabrics, in
cluding the man-made fibers. If you
do tintexing as often as I, you know
that taking out the old color first
is advisable when the article is un
evenly faded or spotted. And it's a
“must” when you want to get a
lighter shade on a dark-colored ar
ticle or when you want to re-dye
the wearable or home decoration an
entirely new or different color. Like
the wonder bluing, you can get the
color remover at all-fabric dye
counters for fifteen cents to a quar
ter a box.
