Mr. Hugh Jull, Pastor
It’s Christmas shopping time once
again — for me, one of the most
enjoyable times of the year. I’m
choosing gilts for the home to give
most of my friends — seems as if
so many people are moving into
new homes or buying older places
and remodeling them that these
home gifts will be most welcome of
all.
One gift that I know will be ap-
preciated is a new plate glass mir
ror — it’s the touch that can add
so much sparkle and friendliness to
a room. The decorative tricks that
can be achieved with mirrors are
nothing short of magic. Nothing
else can so effectively dress up a
room — lighten it — or even ex
pand it. And . . . because they are
available ready to hang, just like
pictures, it’s one gift that most
people will begin using right on
Christmas day!
You can see that the mirror de
partment in our store here has been
a great help in my Christmas shop
ping. One thing, though—the sales
man who helped me, cautioned me
to get the best because it will last
and last for years. He recommended
mirrors of Pittsburgh Plate glass—
and I’m glad I followed his sugges
tions for every one I chose was
really beautiful!
For June and Joe — the young
couple who’ve just moved into a
new home, I selected a large oblong
copper-backed mirror that will fit
over their mantel; for my sister’s
home, I chose a big square mirror
to fit into the alcove in the dining
room — she’s wanted to do some
thing to make the room look larger
—and I know this will do the trick.
For my teen-aged niece, who has
just re-done her bedroom, a large
mirror to cover the entire wall over
her frilly new dressing table is just
the ticket for Christmas.
