December 14, 1950 4— THE MILL CITY ENTERPRISE SPCRTS PAGE Mill City Shuffles Out Another Win Mill City thoroughly put itself at the head of the class in shuffleboard play by out-shooting Detroit this week. Mill City slid the pucks to knock out 225 points to Detroit’s offering of 211. The team of Jack and Barbara En low got high score, a 34, for the Mill City evening and the pair Audrey Layman-Chas. Berman won honors for Detroit with a 38. The low tone of “Red” Rynearson’s voice this week confused and con founded the Mill City participants in the shuffle play. In a burst of skill, Jack Colburn for Mill City made nine points in one frame to win for him self the title “9-point Jack”. All American Pete Catherwood was on the bench ready to substitute in case of an injury. Wide awake rooter Cliff Ambers was really all out in the last tense moments of the tournament. The Mill City teams bringing home the bacon were Jack and Barbara En low, Geo. Stewart-Bill Obershaw, By ron and Tally Davis, Benny Benneth- Pete Peterson, Bill and Judy Bodeker, Alice and Bernice Bigger, Milt Irwin- Cliff Waddel, Jack Colburn-Cy Hook, Inez and Al Haun.
