And the manu facturers of kitchen equipment say that nine times out of ten it's a legitimate complaint. Their sur veys show that fewer than 10 out of every 100 homes have kitchens with good dishwashing facilities. Well, then, what's the answer to this thrice-a-day problem? Six Tons of Dishes Researchers who have been work ing on the problem (and who say that the average homemaker washes more than six tons of dishes every year) have come up with an idea in ■‘straightline” dishwashing. The ideal equipment for this easier way to do dishes is a modern double bowl cabinet sink, with a rinse spray and a supply of really hot water. First, scrape the dishes (here’s where an electric garbage disposer comes in handy) and stack them next to the right hand bowl. Fill the right bowl with hot sudsy water. Place a rubber covered dishdrainer on the left hand bowl. Glassware should be washed first, followed by silverware, plates and cups.
