Meet Wednesday
The Women's Missionary society
of the First Christian church »net
Wednesday for an all day meeting
at the home of Mrs. Gladys Chance
for a social, business and devotional
time. Dinner was by pot-luck.
The business meeting was under
the direction of society president
Mrs. Edward Cooke. A lovely pro­
gram was directed by Mrs. Clarence
Howe.
Present at the meeting were Mes-
dames: Carl Chance, Clarence Howe,
George Flook, Edward Chance, Clyde
Golden, Glen Shelton, Irl Plymale,
Elmer Shaw, Brice Reigle, Tom Shel­
ton, A. N. Swift, Vem Shaw, Tom
Courtney, Frank Careway, Harold
Mason, Walter Peterson, and Jay
Personette.
PARENT—TEACHER MEETINC.
The Mill City P.T.A. met Thurs­
day evening at the high school aud­
itorium. The high school chemistry
class presented a colorful demonstra­
tion of chemical experiments. It
was the first time that a high school
class had participated in P.T.A.
activities.
Musical entertainment was fur-
nished by high school girls.

Lions Auxiliary Plan
Card Party
The Lions Auxiliary will give a
pinochle and canasta card party at
the American Legion hall Saturday
evening, February 18. at 8 o’clock.
A good time is promised everyone
who attends. Mrs. Albert Toman,
president of the Auxiliary, and chair­
man of the event, has announced
that plans have been completed for
a very successful evening. Tickets
are in charge of Mrs. Robert Veness.

Jolly Dancers Hold
Exibition Dance
Local members of the Czech Jolly
Dancers club performed national ex­
hibition dance numbers for the Salem
Women's Club Old Time Dance Fes­
tival at the Armory Friday evening.
Other participating groups were the
ONO and ONT of Portland, and the
Gate Swingers of Salem.
Local dancers were: Mr. and Mrs.
George Veteto, and Mr. and Mrs.
Arey Podrabsky of this city, and
Mr. and Mrs. Andy Kintz, and Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Podrabsky of Sub­
limity.

Gates Playhouse to Give
Drama in Local Theater
Rehearsals have started on a com­
edy "The Honeymoon is Over” by
members of the Gates playhouse, a
group of Gates young folk who re­
cently organized this dramatic club.
The play will be given at the Mill
City Theatre March 2nd. Those
taking part will be, Helen Wilson,
Norma Devine, Carmen Stafford.
