Another community supper is being
planned by the parents of school chil­
dren to raise a fund for continuing
the hot lunch program at school. The
group met late last week and decided
to give a chicken noodle dinner Nov.
18 to be priced at 75c a plate for

Those attending the meeting were
Mrs. Oran Small. Mrs. Reed White
Mrs. Ira Kirsch, Mrs. Madaleine Rid-
ling, Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Chris Mc­
Donald and Mrs. Ray Howard. Re­
freshments following the meeting
were provided by Mrs Chris Mc­
Donald.
More elk hunters have returned
home some successful and others not.
Mr. and Mrs. Ercill Wilson and Mr.
and Mrs. Myron Fender returned late
last week as did Mr. and Mrs. Elmer
Taylor.
The Women’s club met last Wednes
day with Miss Pat Woods of Stayton
demonstrating textile paints. Nearly
25 women were in attendance. The
club plans to invite Mill City, Oates
and Lyons to their next meeting.
Mrs. Myron Fender is wearing a
steel brace on her shoulder as the re­
sult of a fall while elk hunting which
chipped a piece from her shoulder

his 18th birthday at the residence
his aunt, Mrs. Ed Cooke. Those at­
tending were his parents, Mr. and
Walter Peterson and son Gary, Mr.
and Mrs. Don Peterson and daughter
Jane, Donna Jean and Carol Cooke,
Billy Deen, Charles Wolverton, and
Ed Cooke.

Tommy Kirkland, 2 year old son
of Mr. and Mrs. Clay Kirkland is
home after spending two weeks in a
Salem hospital.
Mrs. Frances McCarley and Mrs.
Ray Roberts accompanied by several
ladies from Lyons and Elkhorn
visited the IOOF home for aged Re-
bekahs and Odd Fellows one day last
week.
Andy Spriggs and Ed Cuban have
been building a smoke house back of
the Southern Bar B Q. They plan to
custom cure and smoke meat, fish
and fowl. The building will be coni
1 pleted and ready for use before long,

digging at Seaside last week. Mr

Jennie Moe Sunday were Mr. and
