A 1:30 dessert luncheon was served, followed by several tables of 500. High score was held by Mrs. Orville Downing, low by Mrs. Bert Lyons. Mrs. Earl Helemn got the drawing prize and Mrs Bob Free, the traveling prize. Present besides were Mesdames George Huffman, Floyd Bassett. Walter Bevier. Vem Nydegger, Roy Heineck, Pat Lyons, Sam Bridges. Oscar Naue, Lovell Miller. gram, and the fancy work will go on sale about seven o'clock. There will be home made candy and a fish pond. Everyone come and enjoy the evening i with us At the close of the meeting Mrs Franklin served dainty refresh ments carrying out the Halloween motif, present for the meeting were Mesdames Glen Julian. Ralph F uneral services were held Friday afternoon at 3 at Weddle's parlors in Stayton for Mrs Hilda Anderson who died Wednesday morning in a rest home in Albany. Mrs. Anderson who was 85 was known to everyone in this community as Grandma An derson. She is survived by four sons, Henry, Harley and Elmer, all of Ly ons, and George of Portland, also several grand children and great grandchildren. The Lyons Home extension unit will hold its meeting at the commu nity clubhouse Friday afternoon, the 1 18th. Miss Viola Hanson, home de- j monstration agent, will present a project of color and design in floor | covering. All members of the unit are urged to attend. Jones. Howard Naue, Art Baltzer. A group from Faith Rebekah lodge Lyons, went to Portland Friday, where they visited at the Odd Fel lows home, taking with them 255 i quarts of canned fruit and vegetables, i also squash and potatoes. Santiam Valley grange held their social meeting at the hall Friday eve ning, cards and refreshments fur nished the entertainment. Mrs. D. A. Franklin was hostess for the Women’s Society of Christian Service with the meeting held at the community club house, Mrs. Laur- ance Walworth presided over the business meeting and plans were completed for the bazaar which will be held at the community club house Tuesday eveningg November 15, and various committees were appointed.
