At a meeting of the Women’s Civic
Club in the high school Wednesday
evening. Miss Eleanor Stephens, state
librarian, was guest speaker.
Miss Stephens presented a film,
"It’s All Yours,” which was shown
by Otis White, high school principal.
About 30 women attemied. A busi­
ness meeting preceded the program,
and refreshments were served by the
hostesses, Mrs. Raymond Sophy and
Mrs. J. A. Wright, assisted by Mrs.
Harry Rutherford and Mrs. Dale
Palmer.

his daughter and family at Belling­
ham, Wash.
On Oct. 29 there will be a civil
service examination at Stayton for
postal clerks at Detroit and Idanha.
People here are still looking for
Dr. Craig of Mill City who had an
office built here m a local store this
summer. It is reported he will be
here before winter.
There will be a masquerade ball at
the Blue Moon HHall Oct 31, given
by the Eagles Lodge. Everyone must
wear a bonafide mask to be admitted.

.Miss Shirley Hammer, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Siever of Idanha,
became the bride of Richard E. Bud-
long, son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Bud-
long of Salem, at the First Episco­
pal Church in Salem Saturday eve­
ning, Oct. 15. The Rev. Harry Swift
officiated. The bride wore a white .
wool suit with blue accessories. A
reception was held in the home of the
bridegroom’s parents.
The young
young couple will live in Mill City.
Saturday the men of the Christian
Church in Detroit will join Idanha
members of the congregation in help­
ing to finish the new churdh. A cov­
ered dish dinner will be served at the
CCC Camp.
Saturday afternoon the Junior Hi i
group will meet at the church for a
hike.
A birthday party was given for
Harlow White Sunday evening at the
home of his parents. Mr. and Mrs.
Otis White. About 20 attended.

Civic Club, Detroit, were dinner
guests Wednesday evening of Mrs.
Earl Parker. Miss Stephens was an
overnight guest of Mrs. Johnson and
on Thursday she helped classify
books in the local library. She was
assisted by Mrs. Parker, library­
chairman, and Mrs. J. A. Wright, li­
brarian.
Mrs. Harry Johnson left Salem by
bus Thursday for Los Angeles, called
there by the serious illness of her
'.laughter, Mrs. Earl Goodspeed.
At noon Oct. 31 at the new school
auditorium the Santiam Aerie, Fra­
ternal Order of Eagles, wiH hold the
installation of officers of the Women's
Auxiliary recently formed here,
Roy Newport, Culver, has been in
twon this week looking after busi­
ness interests.
