The meeting, first of the fall ses sion, was well attended and Mrs John Kunkle and Mr». McRae, project leaders, gave a very interesting de monstration of candy making, show ing the uses of Oregon« weets and nuts. The following projects for the year have been outlined: Oregon sweets, color and design in rugs; dyeing ma terials; food for entertaining; prin ciples of home lighting; making latnvp shades; aging successfully; study of Australia; and hooked rug making. The meeting began at 10:30 and a lunch was served at noon. Their only attendants were his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Ramie Martel!, of Lyons. Rev. C. Watcher of the Stayton Assembly of God Church performed the eight o’clock single ring ceremony in the presence of the immediate relatives. Franklin was hostess for the meeting of the Women's So ciety of Christian Service held at the community clubhouse. The young man has been named Ronald Loran and weigh ed 6 pounds, 13 ounces. Miss Jeanett Nydegger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Nydegger, left last week for San Francisco for. a new job. Mrs. Catherine Julian is visiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joe Johnson, in Albany. Several from Lyons and Fox Val ley have gone to eastern Oregon for elkhunting, and many are taking ad vantage of the bird season.
